| Synopsis : | Mark Harris is an artist and linguist, and considers himself something of a writer and historian. He works in watercolour, pen and ink, graphite and sanguine pencil and acrylics. He likes to explore the contrasts of light and dark, particularly in his depiction of buildings and ruins and the subtle details of sunlight on stone and brick. His subject matter reflects his deep interest in Southeast Asia, its history, cultures and languages, and an abiding love of travel for its own sake. The exhibition will be launched on Tue 7 Oct 2008 (6.30pm). |
