| Synopsis : | PREPARATIONS - THE MEASURING SERIES is an exhibition of works at SHALINI GANENDRA FINE ART, by Nasir Baharuddin, Sabri Idrus and Hafiz Amirrol – award winning and established talents, who are the first participants in the Malaysian – Poland Cultural Exchange and Art Residency Program. The works, which were executed as studies for the start of the Residency program, are digitally manipulated photographs, collage and drawings. Each print is unique (without edition). The images offer a variety of perspectives and commentary on local culture. Each measures 76cm x 76cm.
Sabri Idrus is a contemporary artist, exploring experimental approaches to his work, which involve combining painting, graphic design and industrial material.
Nasir Baharuddin is an established artist and educator, who has exhibited internationally and nationally. His current research focuses on visual art thinking and artists' intellectual contribution, including the process of developing new theories, particularly in Malaysia.
Hafiz Amirrol is an architect with focus on humanitarian buildings. He has presented works for this show which combine sketches and images to comment on prevailing architectural focuses.
The exhibition opens on July 3rd and will continue until 30th September 2009 at SHALINI GANENDRA FINE ART, Section 16, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. |
