Happy Shapes by Numpueng
This collection of 25 acrylic paintings on canvas displays how simple it is create a story with images of animals, figures and flowers, just by using simple basic shapes in different sizes, colours and textures.

These are beautiful constructions done without being dictated by any art theories, and just for the simple joy of decorating the wall of a child's room or such.

Artist Numpueng has no formal art training, but started painting when she married artist Victor Chin, and found she had time on her hands and lots of painting materials at her disposal.

Pulau Perhentian by Victor Chin
This collection of 20 abstract acrylic paintings on canvas is about imaging the shimmering quality of light in the sea, that was first inspired by a stay at Pulau Perhentian in 2002.

Over the past six years this idea developed into a series of paintings about the iridescence play of light in tropical waters - its diversity of colours, textures, shapes, and the way all these elements play together endlessly.

Artist Victor Chin's most memorable collection of work was his watercolours of the pre-war shophouses facades in Malaysia and Singapore, painted between 1982 to 1995, and since 2004 he has been showing photographs of marginalised communities such as the disabled athletes and the Orang Asli.
