Synopsis : Fed up and tired, 40-something Lizzie decides to up and leave her middle-class existence behind - including her husband and secondary school teacher job.

As a teacher, Lizzy questions Sita from the Ramayana as the exemplary woman who is virtuous and loyal to her husband Rama. She wonders whether Sita should have abandoned her husband to start her own life.

Lizzy also looks up to Raden Ajeng Kartini, the champion of women's education in early 20th century Java. Lizzy admires Kartini's ideals of fighting for women's freedom and her conviction in "doing the right thing".

This story of one woman's flight, fantasy and her taking charge of reality is the fourth workshop production part of the Krishen Jit Experimental Workshop Series 2006, Five Arts Centre's year-long tribute to theatre director and founder member Krishen Jit.

This a solo theatrical performance featuring actor-collaborator Anne James, who was most recently seen in Second Link and Break-ing (Ji Po) Ka Si Pe Cah.

With Charlene Rajendran (writer-collaborator) and Lim How Ngean (director-collaborator)
