| Synopsis : | After a fully-booked 2005 season, touring theatre company Footstool Players returns with a second season of their play Runaway Bride.
The group will be performing (on weekends only) in several venues, which you can check out here. The play is a challenge to the Church – the "Bride of Christ" – to return to her first love and true calling. It is a collection of seven sketches combining biting comic satire and poignant dramatic storytelling that highlight the maladies that subtly or blatantly affect the Church today – apathy, hypocrisy, legalism, smug self-righteousness, consumerism, complacency, compromise, idolatry, among others – and urges the Church to rethink her passion and mandate. Featuring:
The Wedding by The Jeremiah People While Runaway Bride is particularly targeted at a Christian audience, non-Christians will still be able to identify with its many universal themes. Performance time is 65 minutes. Parental guidance is advised for some sexual references. Come laugh, weep – and above all, think. Directed by Colin Kirton and Jonathan Tan, and starring Ee Soon Wei, Colin Kirton, Dorothy Lee and Adrene Wong. |
