BOH Cameronian Arts Awards

"As a whole part of "psychological education" it needs to be remembered that a neurosis can be valuable; also that "adjustment" to a sick and insane environment is of itself not "health" but sickness and insanity."

Synopsis : The Actors Studio, in association with the British Council, brings Hannah and Hanna, a play about the friendship between two girls, one English and the other from Kosovo, presented by UK Arts Productions in association with Company of Angels.

Hannah, 16, from Margate, wants to know why the Kosovans have taken over her town and her name. Hanna, 16, from Kosovo, wants a safe place to live and a friend.

Olivier Award-winning writer and director John Retallack has created a play that faces head-on the most controversial issue in Britain of the moment - the plight of asylum seekers. Lauded as 'an outstanding piece of honest, inspiring theatre' by The Herald and 'very nice indeed' by The Guardian, Hannah and Hanna garnered 4- and 5-star reviews at last year's Edinburgh Festival.

Directed by John Retallack and featuring Beth Cooper and Louise Fitzgerald.
