Synopsis : Eddin Khoo, the curator of the exhibition Angin currently on at the Galeri Petronas, will give a public lecture on performance traditions of Kelantan.

Eddin Khoo is a poet, writer and translator. Eddin studied Political Thought and Islamic Philosophy at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK and Southeast Asian Art and Archaeology at School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London where he was a British High Commissioner's Chevening scholar.

Following a number of years as an arts and culture journalist with the Sunday Star, Eddin founded 'PUSAKA : Centre for the study and Documentation of Traditional Performance in Malaysia' and the publishing house, 'Kala', which devotes itself to publishing literary translations from the world's languages into Malay.

Eddin worked closely with some of Malaysia's leading traditional artists including shadow puppeteers, musicians, dramatists and dancers. His principle focus of interest has been on the northeast Malaysian state of Kelantan, researching on aspects of oral transmission, and rituals in traditional theatre.
