Synopsis : The opaque smoke and guitar strums of Pete Teo's Songwriters Round used to happen at the ill-lit No Black Tie; rumour has it that Evelyn Hii's jazz bar is re-opening, now with a larger wine cellar. Until then, pilgrims to the shrine of singing-songwriting find refuge in classy Alexis Ampang. Songwriters Round 16 and Songwriters Round 17 act as closing acts to KL Sing Song 2005, a conference where singer-songwriters from around the region swap tales.

Sat's performance features: Azmyl Yunor (music evoking the working class down-to-earth folkiness of Bob Dylan and Neil Young, only funnier, yat.ch/yunor); June Somsiri Sangkeaw (leader of the Thai indie experimental pop outfit Bear Garden and co-founder of independent label Panda Records, www.wearepanda.com); Kelvin Tan (lead guitarist for legendary Singaporean rock outfit The Oddfellows, published writer, poet, playwright, experimental musician and academic, www.dialecticrealm.com); and Pete Teo ("an outrageous liar and shameless wannabe who is constantly asleep at the wheel", www.peteteo.com). Also featuring people braving open mike.
