After many years of mastering the guitar, Farid Ali now plays the gambus, a form of lute. After performing in many jazz festivals all over the world with this new instrument. The gambus was commonly played only in local traditional music, but through Farid endeavours, has now gained international appreciation and is recognised as a fine jazz instrument. |
