| Synopsis : | The Songwriters' Round, brainchild of award-winning singer-songwriter Pete Teo, has in its last 13 rounds uncovered many of the valley's hidden talents. Intermingling established names with unknowns, the show is always a delight and full of surprises. No pop stars too starry, or bathroom poets too wet, everyone gets a chance to show off original materials in this smoky, stripped-down, acoustic atmosphere. Be prepared to be surprised by established names who can really hold their own, and unknowns who ought to be signed straight away. Talent scouts have been wowed. Maybe you too. Please book seats in advance, unless you prefer to rub shoulders with the folks.
Line up for Fri Nov 26: The sensual Shelley Leong, the catchy OAG founder Qi, the husky and warm Mia Palencia, and Ali, which is actually two persons, Malaysian Idol judge Roslan Aziz and Mukhlis, the producer-composer team that gave you Sheila Majid and Zainal Abidin. Line up for Sat Nov 27: The winsome sunshine popsters Albert and Edwin, the intense progessive rock band bass player Melina Williams, the incredibly jaw-droppingly cool guitarist Az Samad, and Ali again. |
