| Synopsis : | Veteran musician and musical director Zailan Razak has been actively involved in the music industry for the last 20 years. Zailan spent half of his adult life in the US where he read music at Cornell College and Arizona University. He has worked with musicians such as Sister Sledge, Dennis Rowland, Khani Cole, Grover Washington Jr., Spyro Gyra and Bobby Caldwell, among others. Back in Malaysia he has produced and played for Sheila Maijid, Siti Nurhaliza, Zainal Abidin and Ning Baizura among others. The Zailan Razak Project (ZRP) is a predominately funk and Latin quartet consisting of bass, drums, piano and saxophone. ZRP has graced jazz festivals round the region, most recently appearing at Penang Jazz and Java Jazz Festivals. This time at Alexis, ZRP will also showcase newcomer, vocalist Zarif and young protégé Danial on percussion/drums. |
