Synopsis : Following the tremendous success of its five previous sessions, Wayang Kata returns, bringing you more energetic, quirky humorous prose/ poetry, this time done Kim Trusty style.

This time round, spoken word and music will share the stage, as local musicians Najwa, Mia Palencia and Reza Salleh are also set to perform. Also performing along with Kim are local poets Dizzy & The.

Kim Trusty is a UK-based poet of Canadian/Jamaican origin, and is the author of a solo collection of poetry, Darker Than Blue. Kim’s poems have also been anthologised in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Determined to create work that is literary yet accessible, Kim is out to prove that you don’t need a bit of quiet for inspiration - instead, some of the best work has arisen through collaborations with other people, both artists and non-artists alike.

Presented by the British Council, who since April 2006, has connected local poets with those from Britain who have successfully made careers out of writing and performing poetry. The poets - Francesca Beard, Benjamin Zephaniah, Malika Booker, Charlie Dark and Jacob Sam-La Rose - each performed to packed audiences in Kuala Lumpur during their respective visits.
