| Synopsis : | The novel 'Bigeikoh', a collaborative effort by Japanese writer Tsutsui Yasutaka and artist Yokoo Tadanori, is a masterpiece that takes an explicit look at the world of film, during Japan's post-war era. Adapted here for theatre by playwright/ director Amano Tengai and actor/producer Oguma Hideji of Kudan Project, the play examines the possibilities and impossibilities of theatre. Kudan Project, who brought us Yaji and Kita back in 2006, is based in Nagoya and was founded in 1998 by Amano Tengai and Oguma Hideji. The project is made up two actors - Oguma and Jitsunashi and staff from various renowned theatre companies and freelance artists. The play will be in Japanese, but non-Japanese-speaking folks need not worry - you can rely on Kudan's “Flash Cards” which has translated lines in Bahasa Malaysia and English on them. Presented by The Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur (JFKL) and Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA). |
