| Synopsis : | A stable-boy who loves horses passionately suddenly blinds six horses with a metal spike one night. Everyone, including his parents, is shocked by the violence of his act. After all, he is such a good and hardworking young man. Why did he do it? What has gone wrong? Refusing to give up on him, his psychiatrist works like a detective to uncover the events that led to that terrible crime. Peter Shaffer's Equus is presented here by the fourth batch of graduating students from The Department of Performance + Media, Sunway University College. Featuring performances by Aaron Teoh, Bryant Kevin Alburquerque, Eri Peng, Erica Tham, Mark Pillay and Zalikha Harun, with Adrian Teh as production stage manager. Directed by lecturer Melissa Teoh and produced by Leow Puay Tin. |

| All the ensemble pieces in this are genuinely stunning, atmospheric, great, well done, simply done, excellent, superb etc left me with a great experience ... the spoken performances hwoever ... feels like these guys knowthe script too well, they often come onstage and just say their lines ... very automatic. zalikha has some nicem= moments but the others just vent stuff ... point in case: the stable owner professed thatt this had been the worst event of his life and his wife was having a nervous breakdown with such casual nonchalance one wondered if he was joking ... Still, it worked. I enjoyed it. Good version of a great play.

| It's no question that Equus is a rather mature play -- at least, I label it so for our typical Malaysian audience. That said, I'm more than impressed that the cast has managed to project that level of maturity and depth to the rest of the public. You have to admit even for the most open-minded person, the idea of bestiality is something quite thought provoking, inconceivable to some perhaps. The themes are heavy, and I would have to say that it would be easy to misconstrue and twist the overall idea of the play, of belief and social norms. Overall, the actors and actresses did a wonderful job in communicating their roles to the audience, even if there were stiff moments or hasty improvisations, I don't believe it took away from the gravity of the play itself. In fact, I would recommend seeing it, though as you may expect -- it's been fully booked. To those who are planning to see their last show? Do enjoy.

| I really truly am so happy with Equus. It was such a relief finally watching a production that didn't feel like a waste of my time, money, and energy. The play itself is fantastic, but Melissa Teoh's production of it was excellent. Though there were some hiccups during the show (the course of excellent theatre never did run smooth), and some of the actors weren't exactly up to par compared to their counterparts (I'd like to take a moment to congratulate Bryant and Aaron for their moving, convincing performances), you can't expect absolute perfection from a student production. But, having said that, I truly find that this show was much, much, MUCH better than a lot of the shows I've seen claiming to be "professional" theatre productions. Bravo, Equus!

| Thank you for all your comments. We're all glad you enjoyed the show. Do come for our next one! Post Scriptum Dalton: "Terrible? I don't think I'll ever get over it. Jill's had a nervous break down." Dysart: "Jill?" Dalton: "The girl who worked for me." point in case, Jill was not Dalton's wife.

| Nit-picking, Aaron Teoh. But good job (in the show), nonetheless!
