| Synopsis : | The Selangor branch of the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) will be screening two award winning documentaries on environmenral issues.
First up is Clean Shit/Alice Lives Here, a Reel Power Production directed by Ong Ju Lin. The film came out tops in the amateur category and won the Justin Louise Award at the Freedom Film Festival held in August 2005. The documentary centers around the response of residents in Broga, when they found out that a waste incinerator was to be built near their village. The second documentary, Temengor: Biodiversity in the Face of Danger, produced by Mohamed Harun of Novista. The film won the Best Documentary Award at the 18th Malaysian Film Festival 2005 and aims to educate the public and policy-makers on the importance of safe-guarding Temengor as a legacy for all Malaysians. MNS will also make a presentation on Temengor after the screenings. |
