| Synopsis : | Michel Piccoli, one of the greatest French actors, plays Gilbert Valence, a grand old theatre actor, who learns of the tragic deaths of his wife, daughter and son-in-law in a car accident. Later, with his worst grief over, Valence busies himself with his daily life in Paris, turning down roles in low brow TV productions and caring for his grandson. But when an America filmmaker absurdly miscasts him in an adaptation of Joyce's Ulysses, Valence is compelled to make a decision about his life.
