MyDance Alliance and The Actors Studio present two workshops on Malay Folk Dance to be conducted by two ASK graduates, Azizi Sulaiman (Endang) and Sabarina Masadi (Zapin Sindang). Notes on the two dance styles, their history and appropriate costumes will be provided. Pictures and video will be used to give a clearer picture of the graceful movements involved.

Endang originates from Sumatra and features simple but challenging movements as the performers form intricate patterns to an ever-increasing tempo.

Zapin Sindang hails from Sarawak and has a unique heel and hip action along with delicate wrist movements. It is traditionally performed as a courting dance.
