EMILY OF EMERALD HILL

Already established as one of Southeast Asia's most performed plays, Stella Kon's award-winning monodrama Emily of Emerald Hill returns to the Malaysian stage after a critically-acclaimed February and March 2012 tour to theatres in Australia. 

Set in early twentieth-century Singapore, Emily of Emerald Hill tells the story of the matriach of an affluent Peranakan family, moving backwards and forwards through time. We watch Emily triumph and fall, and witness the bitter irony of how her love leads to her son's suicide and her husband's estrangement. 

Directed by co-founder member of Five Arts Centre, Chin San Sooi, this production will feature acclaimed actress Pearlly Chua, who has performed Emily over 160 times.
