Conveniently located just off the LDP in Kelana Jaya, Reka Art Space offers exhibition space and art classes, and accepts portrait commissions.

"Reka Art Space aims to dispel the sense of exclusivitiy often associated with art by establishing a space that is more open and communal in nature," says owner, Chee Sek Thim, a KL-based artist and theatre practitioner.

The gallery itself focuses on artists who have previously been outside the collector's circuit. These include artists with special needs, fresh graduates, and artists who have not actively exhibited their work before.

Art classes are also offered in the adjoining studio at Reka Art Space. Packaged with the working adult in mind, the classes offered are structured as short 4-week modules.

"My aim is to make art and the experience of art making, one that is non-intimidating and accessible to all," says Chee, who has been an art educator since 1990.
