Underlining the troupe’s mission is their continuous search for creative modes of expression for any given time and space. Despite their 8-year existence, their passion for creating and practising performance art has propelled them their original boundaries and has become a way of uplifting mind and soul.

Out of respect for the world of nature, Nyoba and Dancers choose to rehearse out-of-doors. By engaging in physical and spiritual dialogue with nature, they hope it will bring about a deeper understanding of the universe and shed light on the concept of 'emptiness'. The dancers also take group retreats as part of their artistic journey to discover fresh, bright ideas alongside their transition through time and space.

The year 2002 was a time of renewal. It heralded the inauguration of three new dancers and a phase of exploration, infusing their Buto technique fundamentals with the oriental influences of meditation, qigong and Zen philosophy. Their search for a new direction in practising performance art continues into 2003. Recent works include "Karmen", "Garden of Eden With Full Blooming Yellow Chrysanthemums", "Happy Birthday" and "Qian’s".
