Donna Miranda and her collaborator Khavn de la Cruz plot how to accost passengers at KL Sentral while waiting for the KTM Komuter train heading to Seremban.

By the time the train leaves the Serdang station a short while later, Donna's convinced a few passengers to be a part of her photo artworks.

Most passengers, of course, have yet to notice the impish Donna at her tricks.

On the return trip, Donna stops at the Kajang station for a breather. She is ignored until ...

... she zeroes in on teenagers waiting for their train. Amused with Donna's photos of lovey-dovey graffiti at other stations, they gamely allow her to make a photo work of them.

Look out, guys! Donna's not done yet. If you're taking the KTM Komuter in the next one week, you may be next on her hit list!

Tembak Shots: “LAMU: Performance art by Donna Miranda” by Kakiseni
This time around, the lithe and congenial award-winning performer is interacting with more Malaysians -- the large numbers who would have not even looked for information on her workshops and shows or, for that matter, any other arts events. Now here for the mobile public arts project of “Let Arts Move You” (LAMU), Donna is one of five regional artists who, together with six Malaysian artists, are creating artworks inside trains and stations of the KTM Komuter lines.
In this Tembak Shots, LAMU co-curator and Rumah Air Panas artist Yap Sau Bin together with Kakiseni track Donna as she does her bit to make the arts more relevant to especially folk from the other side of the tracks.
Check out our videos (one per page in the next few pages) for eyewitness accounts of what is possibly Malaysia's most fun and engaging public arts project!...

“Let Arts Move You” (LAMU) started unofficially on Monday when Donna Miranda and Yap Sau Bin “harassed” stumped and amused passengers, and workers of the KTM Komuter trains. LAMU will be officially launched on 27th October 2007 at the KTM Intercity arrival hall at KL Sentral and will run until 4th November 2007. More of Donna’s tricks and other details here.
